Services Offered

GeoTex Design Solutions offers freelance product development and support services from conceptualization to commercialization and beyond. Utilizing a stage-gate approach to design projects, we provide guidance to our clients through each step of the new product development life-cycle from defining requirements to product launch. We also offer sustaining services for clients in need of engineering support for existing product lines as well as additional third-party services focused on quality assurance.
Utilizing SolidWorks Professional, ideas are developed from conceptual sketches to detailed, three-dimensional designs with lifelike visualization and virtual testing before manufacturing.
When a detailed design is finalized, production ready, two-dimensional drawings (featuring fully customizable title blocks and your company's logo) are created communicating how a design should be manufactured and assembled.
Utilizing SolidWorks Simulation Standard, linear static and fatigue analyses are performed on critical components of a design before it is finalized thereby reducing prototyping and physical testing costs.
Leveraging an established network of local machine shops and vendors, accurate cost estimates are obtained and assistance with prototype manufacture is offered.
Following the development of a detailed design, technical manuals are written in order to summarize the design and performance specifications, assembly, disassembly, function and pressure testing procedures, as well as any pertinent running considerations and operating instructions for the product. Pre- and post-run inspection checklists are typically included ensuring proper service quality and delivery.
Where required, detailed, design specific test procedures, adhering to the applicable API specification for the product type, are written ensuring that the design meets industry standards in both quality control and design validation.
Once a prototype has been manufactured, assistance with assembly is offered and urged in order to identify any potential manufacturing issues and/or design enhancements.
On-site test supervision and reporting services are offered in order to assist with test design and setup in order to ensure that testing goes as planned. Subsequent test reporting is also available in order to document product performance.
For each design, detailed design files are compiled capturing all of the pertinent information for the project such as Design Requirements, Meeting Minutes, Component Drawings and Calculations, Product Performance Envelopes, Test Procedures, Test Reports, Pre- & Post-Test Dimensional Analyses, and Material Certifications/MTR's.
With value engineering, existing product designs are scrutinized in order to identify potential areas were manufacturing costs can be reduced without sacrificing product performance. A cost analysis among proposed alternatives is then performed in order to establish the annualized cost savings that would result should the changes be implemented.
Where a successful product already exists, entire product families can be developed for a range of casing/tubing sizes through scaling thus allowing the customer to capture a broader swath of their targeted market.
When applications arise that exceed the design limitations of an existing product, the design is scrutinized in order to identify areas where changes can be made that will improve product performance in order to meet the demands of the intended application irrespective of manufacturing costs.
Tailored to the specific products being ran, field operational procedures are written in order to ensure proper service delivery and quality. By working closely with your clients’ engineers, operational procedures are developed that include the well parameters for the job, a list of required handling tools and surface equipment needed to perform the job, required product configurations, pipe tallys, string diagrams, and the step-by-step procedure required to properly complete the job. If further assistance is required, an engineer can travel to the wellsite in order to support job execution.
Witness testing services ensure that manufacturer production, assembly, and testing activities are performed as per customer specifications and requirements. Each observance is summarized with a detailed report outlining procedural deviations, manufacturing issues, test results, and inspection reports where applicable.
Design verification confirms that a third party design meets the minimum specifications and requirements as set forth by the customer. Following the verification process, a Statement of Compliance document is issued complete with supporting calculations and a summary of the findings. If further assurance is desired, the third party design can be validated through the manufacture, inspection, and subsequent testing of the product. During this process, the product is tested in order to confirm that it meets the specifications and requirements as set forth by the customer. Following the validation process, a comprehensive design validation file is issued with pre- and post-test inspection reports, material certifications & MTR's, test results, and a summary of the findings.
Utilizing various problem solving methodologies, a systematic approach to information organization is used to identify the root cause(s) of equipment failures and recurring manufacturing non-conformances.
